I have an old recliner that I recently had restored, leather upholstery only. The manufacturer is the Royal Easy Chair Company. They don't seem to have a presence on the internet. Have you heard of them before and are their chairs valuable? I'll be fifty years old this year and this chair used to be my grandfather's. My mother had it long before I was born and it's still in great condition. The wood on the chair is old tiger oak and it goes perfectly with an old Stickley rocker that I have, just to give you an idea of the style. Anything that you can tell me about the company would be appreciated. timbrinton@adelphia.net

Hello! A local merchant has three vases for sale that are absolutely beautiful, but I don't know what they are and am looking for advice before I purchase them because he doesn't know what they are either! He acquired them from an estate sale, along with boxes of other items from the late 1940's. These vases are bone colored ceramic (there is also a pink ceramic vase)and have beautiful ceramic roses attached on front (the roses appear to have been hand done) and the vases have a gold (appears to be real gold) drawing on the reverse side. On the bottom of the vases there is a crest of some sort. The crest looks like it could be the letter W under a crown. Please help! I can be contacted at courtxox@aol.com Thank you! Thank you! I have inherited three boxes of lovely china. I was told they were flow blue, but upon researching, I found they were not. I can't find anything about them. There are teapots, chocolate pots, cups, cups and saucers and a wide assortment of bowls and plates. Some are labeled "made in Japan" with Japanese letters, but most are unmarked. All have a hand painted floral motif, some with lovely hand painted roses with gold edging around the roses. All of them have a vivid cobalt blue edge, many with thick gold trim. When I turn the bowls and saucers over, the blue on the edge has bled into the white china, which is why I was told they were flow blue. I would certainly appreciate any help in getting on with my search to find out what I have, where it came from, and what it might be worth. Many thanks to my helpers. dondeppe@hotmail.com

It is of a velvet sort of material. There are upholstery tacks on both sides of all the wood trim. The back of each is red while the front and cushions are more mauve toned.

Do you have any photos of Koken barber chairs. I just bought one in almost mint condition. White porcelain and blue leather with head rest and the leather strap attached for cleaning razors. Leather is flawless, original, not faded or cracked. Seals are good, only leaks if tipped. I was told it was around 130 yrs old. Owner had it for 41 yrs and bought from an old barber when he was a teen. He is 66 yrs. old the man he got it from was in his 70's when he got it from him.  The head rest was never used by the owner I got it from. It works and has black leather on it and really old yellow paper where the rolls used to go. Chrome is about 98 % good. Some rust on bottom that touches the floor but you can't see it unless you tilt it to look underneath. Hydraulics work fine, leaf engraving on head rest. I was told that a dealer told him it was around 130 yrs old and offered him over a $1000 for it. There is also fancy engraving on foot rest. Trying to find out how much its worth. Thank you Lisa. email: bigheart_36@hotmail.com

Looking for information and value on some chairs I have. Any help appreciated! First ones are marked: GF Chair, 4589 478, GF Sturgis Div, Sturgis, Mich. They also have 89/70 written on the bottom in white. They have chrome frame/legs with a curved cushion seat/back (one piece). I assume in vinyl? Color is either school bus yellow or orange (looks different in different lights). the chrome armrests have a black plastic (or ??) top screwed in from bottom. Second chairs I have are marked: Thonet, W. Germany. Made in 1986 (?), the are kind of modern looking, with molded seat with vinyl? cushioning and wood legs (same color as molded seat). The seat is held to legs with inset Allen key screws. Pictures available.

Also looking for information and value on a chandelier I have. Any help is greatly appreciated! It is a veneer and chrome chandelier. It has 5 arms (2 chrome rods) going to each of the 5 lights. The center has veneer sides (round) and each of the 5 light fixtures are veneer sides (round). The bottoms are chrome as is the top of the center unit and chain. The central part also has a down light recessed in the bottom. It's approx 21" diameter, 12.5" high central, hangs 18" from ceiling. There's no screws for globes so I'm not sure what kind of bulbs originally came in it. Maybe used clip on shades that clip on the bulbs?? Thanks! Dave. Rumyboss@yahoo.com

I bought a dining set with a table, six chairs, sideboard and china cabinet at an antique auction here in Utah where I live and the furniture came from New York. On the bottom of the table is the manufacturers name of Sweat-Comings Co. located in Richford, Vermont. The person name, who originally purchased the furniture, is also under the table, his name is M. H. Dain, from Gouvenreur, New York. I am trying to date this set. It has kind of like a two side harp design, or musical sign, on the backrest of each chair. I have many antique pieces but can't find this in any of the books I have. Can you please help me or direct me to who can?

Thanking you in advance, Sue Glover, of Utah snglover@earthlink.net

I have what I believe to be a salesman sample from the Buffalo Carpenter Container C. Inc., Buffalo, NY USA. It is a CARPENTER DRUM. NO it does not have anything to do with NAILS or CARPENTRY. It is a red fiberboard barrel with a metal band around the top and the bottom. The top and bottom are wood. After taking the top band off carefully the circular wooden top comes out. Then you see the CARPENTER TRIPLE SEAL which is a waxy type paper that goes over the sides of the barrel. (The barrel is about 9 7/8" in diameter and about 9 5/8" in height.) The following is printed several times on the seal: CARPENTER TRIPLE SEAL The Purchaser and/or User of this SEAL accepts and agrees to use it only in SANITARY SEALED CARPENTER DRUMS manufactured under US Patent No. 1,414,861. When formed and used in the manner shown heron, this seal is patented and is subject to all rights under the aforesaid patent. Carpenter Container Corporation License No. 6 BUFFALO CARPENTER CONTAINER CO. INC BUFFALO, N.Y. U.S.A.. The bottom of the drum says Carpenter Drum with a number and some words that I cannot decipher. I have called the US Patent office and they are sending me a copy of the patent. If you know anything about this item or company please email me at munchkin@myvine.com. THANKS! Pat.

Hello all. I am trying to restore a 1951 The A Kochs babrbers chair. During the last move I made, a metal piece on the chair broke, and I am trying to see if anyone knows where to find parts for these or where I can get one made? The chair is a 1951, style 2548, made in factory 99153. The piece that broke, is the metal strap that connects the back piece of the arm rest to the back of the chair. It is flat on the side that screws into the bottom of the arm rest and is chromed on the end where a bolt connects it to the chair back. If anyone out there can help me or knows aof anyone who can, please reach out to me and let me know! Thank you very much! Please email me at mchrispelesky@comcast.net

It has raised hand painted enamel flowers, gold leaf trim, and what I can only describe as wreaths (in gold leaf) around the outside, and one on the interior of the lid. The bottom has the mark 659OC in red. Does this indicate a specific maker? If so whom, and what is the estimated year of production? I can be contacted at elainefsanchez@juno.com

Hello, SOLID OAK DRESSER I have a solid oak dresser w/detatched mirror (probably 1930-1950,s vintage) and am seeking a matching headboard for same. The information on the back may indicate either the manufacturer and/or retailer (Halpern & Gillman, Brooklyn, New York). They are not in the phone book and have probably been out of business for many years. The dresser tag has a model # of 5101/77 M&M Dresser and the mirror has a model #5101/63. The six drawers of equal size have ornate drawer-pulls which appear to be either hand carved or machine routed. The lower front valance of the dresser is of a slightly sculptured design which also matches the wood frame design on the mirror. I am trying to locate a picture of the matching headboard so I can have one custom made. Or if by chance, someone may know if this manufacturer is still in business under a new name. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks kroth94817@aol.com Any help is greatly appreciated.
