I have a set of serving dishes from Bavaria Germany. The mark is GM with a crown on top of it making it almost look like one of the Hummel Goebel Trademarks only that the "W" is a "M" . The crown is longer than the two letters that are on top of each other. The pattern is floral and small. All pieces are gold edged.If anyone has any inof I sure would appreciate it. I have a Vita Ray gas furnace--it was made by Quad Stove Manufacturing, Columbus, Ohio. It still works, but have had it removed from my "fireplace" and was wondering the value. I have a beautiful hope chest that was made by the Paine Furniture Company in Boston Massachusetts . The label looks very old and is underneath the chest. The address is 48 Canal Street and 141 Friendly St. The hope chest has lion's head handles carved into the sides and beautiful carvings all around it. It also has designed legs. Can anyone help me date an old silver cross, I dug it up in Florida back in the 60's, its only about 2,1/2 inches long. But is very gothic looking. It actually looks like a sword, and Jesus is detachable, if the gold nails are removed. I found this out when I lost the nail in his feet. Has since been replaced. The makers mark does not match any of the listed Italian maker marks. On the back of the cross at the bottom, it says ITALY, has a barrall shaped stamp with what looks like 84M, on the inside but it could be, B{lighting bolt} M. I just can't tell, but I have found nothing that matches it completly. Under the barrall, is 92 and then... a lower off set 5, that numerically looks like it came from another set of stamping numbers, because the style just does not look the same as the 92 set. Hi, I inherited a complete service for 12 of Limoges France china made and painted at Elite Works. The set has everything down to the bullion cups, 4 platters, gravy boat and numerous covered and uncovered serving dishes. I'm trying to find any information I can about the history (and date) of the set. It's stamped on the back in green "Limoges France" "Elite" and has a small crest with a man with a halo and the initials "s" and "m". This design is duplicated below in red. The pattern is a white china with gold band and a black greek key overlay. Moving toward the center of the dish, but touching the rim, is a chain of half-circles with dots and finished with an artistic loop. Hi. I have a very old ring that looks to be copper maybe. Anyway, it is stamped inside "made in Italy," and has the virgin Mary on the front of the ring with roses on the sides of the ring. But the REALLY unique thing about the ring is that on the inside (exactly opposite where Virgin Mary is on the outside) it has the Virgin Mary holding Baby Jesus. I have owned this ring for quite some time now...and this is the first time i've noticed Virgin Mary and the Baby Jesus on the inside! It is really unique. As I said before, it looks to be made of maybe copper and looks to be quite old. I was just wondering if anyone could possibly give me any information about this particular type of ring. i recently bought a chair at a garage sale. It looks like a corner chair but it has a round seat. The arm rests are as equal with the the back. It has the original cloth. The springs are coming out. The legs are very thin and stand on wooden wheels. i am trying to find out more about this chair and it's history anyone have any ideas. it's hard to describe. except the arms and back are a U shape as well as the seat. The cloth holding up the springs looks to be like a feed bag material. the wheels are the most interesting. wooden and about half inch big. thanks sjaz4@aol.com

Hi, I have a tea set and would like to know if it is an antique. The dishes and cups are white and have intricate leafy gold patters on a burgandy backgroung. At the center is what appears to be a 19th century man and woman in the courting mode. He is dressed in blue and she in a burgandy top and yellow flared dress. Hiya , I have been given the task by a friend to find out the value of a certain "H&C Heinrich " 1939 Nazi dinner plate .It is of normal dinner plate size and is plain white .on the bottom/underneath it has a german eagle with FI. on oneside of the eagle and U.V. on the other .the eagle is sat on a german swastika with the date ,1939 just below .It then has a crown and the H&C ,SELB,Bavaria,GERMANY and a signed "Heinrich" signature below that . Hi, I am in possession of a small metal box, silver in colour although I dont think its full silver. I was made by August Wellner, Sachs Metallw.Fabrik in Aue, Saxony and has the date 1913 and the number 30 in a circle printed on it. It also has what looks like a crest engraved on the top and front of the box. I am trying to find out about the origins of this box and so its history but cant find out much about Wellner prior to the ordnance days. Can anyone help please? I would be really grateful. Hello! I have done an extensive amount of research, and cannot seem to find the information I need. I have recently acquired a "Pairpoint Quadruple Plate" teacup. It was made by the Pairpoint Manufacturing Company in New Bedford, Massachusetts. It is personalized with 2 names and a date of 12/25/1894. It has a lighthouse, with 3 houses behind it, surrounded by a circle. Their are starburst like object protruding away from the circle. I'm looking for a shaft that operates the hydraulics for a 1961 paidar barber chair. The shaft is connected to the handle of the chair and runs thru the hydraulic cylinder and out the other side. Unusual: I would appreciate historic and/or value information, if you generally recognize my description. Early 1900s(?) sturdy/heavy, dark brown wooden optical workstand(?). Cast-iron handcrank on vertical column adjusts height of tabletop (which is 12"x22") from 23"lowest to 37"highest. Vertical support column (3"x3"x28") has 4 angled supports that span out from midheight of column to 4 points on criss-cross floor support (2 crossbeams, each 3"x3"x18"). A very small metal tag reading "Patent Applied For Cahn Standard Optical Co Los Angeles" (in a peculiar printing style) is nearly hidden under tabletop. The height adjustment mechanism works perfectly and smoothly. Wood tabletop has fabric cover with a paint coating-modifiable. nicol1313@hotmail.com

I just saw a note on the advertising page from 1993 regarding an S. K. Pierce and Son Company from Gradner, MA. I have an oak chair made by this company with what appears to be a leather (fiber?) seat; the chair is quite simple with only a vertical oak piece mid-back which distinguishes it. I have some Limoges china cups and saucers with a double band of Silver trim around the edges of both cup and saucer. On the bottom of the cups and saucers are two labels. One says T&V Limoges France and the other Deposart with an interlocking J and C. There is no other decorative feature other than the Silver Trim. My father-in-law's brother designed a knife, fork and spoon that were then built for the 1947 Toronto Centennial Exposition. They were built by the Roger Bros. I am trying to find some information on Norleans figurines, I have a large figurine that has a young man with a mandiolin and a young girl with a basket of grapes, this figurine has 2 parts, the one I described and then it has a large fruit bowl that fits on the top. I have a question: I have just purchased a Koken barbershop chair dated 1926 in Tianjin, China. Does anyone know if Koken manufactured here at all? The 1920's and 30's were a time when foreign countries had territories within Tianjin and so a China-manufactured chair would not be out of the question but is extremely rare... I have a set of 2 items and I don't know anything about them. They might be candle holders? They have a thick, blue, tapered glass with scalloped edges. The glass is not clear, but kinda frosted. They sit in holders that are black metal. They are basically 3 strips of metal that are vertical and are attached together with 2 circles of metal. The strips are curled on the ends to form the legs and curl under at the top. They have metal flowers and leaves for decoration. What makes me question if they are candle holders is that where each metal strip curls under at the top is a small hole near the ends of the curl. I have a Pairpoint item. It has a long stem, metal base that shaped like a diamond at the bottom. It has a orange, glass thing on the top that has a bit of an indentation in the middle. (hold a candle??) (maybe candy dish??) The glass top is scalloped on the edges and if it were flat it would be round. However, it comes up in 3 areas and is flat in the other 3 areas. There is flower and leaf detailing on the bottom of the glass and it is smooth on the inside. Under the bottom of the base is the word Pairpoint. I was wondering about how much a victorian mission style bed and dresser in tiger oak would be worth? The bed has been modified, around 1960. It was a sleigh bed, but is now mission style with a modest headboard and no footboard. The matching dresser has four drawers and a large mirror. It is in wonderful condition. The name is WALTER **!* ABASH with the W being large enough to be in front of alter and abash. I am curious and intrigued to know of this rectangular dining table. White with gold fleck with a middle extension that is free of any markings.

I am trying to identify some china that was given to the family in Italy in the early 1950s. It is gold and cream colored with the following markings on the bottom. A crown with crossed swords under it. In the area to the left of the swords is an 'R', to the right is a 'W' and centered under them is a 'K'. Under this is the word Bavaria and a two digit number. Hello, I am looking for parts for an old Oak Koken barber chair. I need the metal brackets and footrest that attaches to the front of the small oak step on the lower front of the chair. It appears that this chair had a bracket mounted on each side of the front of the step, which would go out to the flip-over footrest. if you have such items, email me the description, price and condition. I would like to see what the worth is on a rocking chair that belonged to my grandparents. It is alt least 35 years old maybe older. It has metal springs on the bottom for the rocking is all wood and has woven material for the seats and back. It is still in faily good shape a piece of wood on the bottom needs to be glued because the pegs have come apart that holds the two rocker feet together. I have several Couroc trays I bought at the factory in California in 1978. I used one last night to take cornbread to neighbor's Super Bowl party. The tray came back today - clean as it had gone through the dishwasher. How can I regain some of the shine and coating on this tray? I am also looking for information on S. Karpen and Brothers. I have a sofa with tag reading Karpen Guaranteed Construction Furniture Chicago Michigan City, New York. So far I know that Lawrence K. Schnadig purchased and combined S. Karpen & brothers and International Furniture Co in 1952 to form Schnadig Corporation. I e mailed that company only to be told they knew nothing and to try Chicago Historical Society. Nothing there. I want to find age of my sofa. Karpen & Brothers was established in 1880 and International Furniture Co was founded at the turn of the twentieth century. Sooo I know my sofa was produced between 1880 and 1952. Any helpful tips would be much appreciated. - Marianne
Antique Barbers Chair. I have a Koken barber chair with oak sides and trim. It also has an oak headrest adjuster. There is lots of chrome in excellent condition and the hydrolics seem to work fine. The red leather or vinyl ,( not sure what it is) has a split on the seat but is otherwise fine. I would be interested in selling it and would like to know how old it is and what it is likely worth. Hello. I have a very ornate and unusual pitcher that I would like information on. It is marked PAIRPOINT with a P in a diamond, quadruple plate and marked 1630. The pitcher is decorated with flowers and grapes/grape leaves. It sits on a holder decorated with grapes/grape leaves and swings to pour into a decorated goblet that sits on a stand attached to the base. I believe it was manufactured in New Bedford MA. Hello. I purchased an item at an estate sale. It is a 3-pc. item and is dark colored with floral emblem engraving. It has a domeshaped lid with a unique spout at the top, and 2 handles on the sides. It is also four-footed and has 2 prong type things on the back of it. When the lid is removed there is a round plate with a hole in the center that fits into the base.On the base of the lid there is a floral engraving that goes all around the base. I'm not sure what it is. On the bottom it says Pairpoint MFG. CO with a diamond shaped emblem and a P in the middle of the diamond. It also says Quadruple Plate underneath the P with a number of 526. I have several plates from Bavaria, Germany. On the back of the plate it says this:M with a big X and the M sits in the middle of the top part of the X and below that with lines on top and bottom sits the word MITERTEICH, below thatsits the word BAVARIA under that it has GERMANY then "Carmen". The plate measures a little over 10 inches, it is white, with ridges all the way around it and has a beautiful single red rose on a long stem with green leaves and then the rose throws a shadow on the plate. I have an old pitcher at home that belonged to my Grandmother. I would like to know a little more about where it came from, what it might be worth (sorry, not for sale), any insurance I might want to have, and any other info anyone has on this piece. It has a Carrollton China stamp on the bottom. There is some type of purple flower, green vine on what I assume is the front. (Sorry, I'm not a plant person.) The outside paint is an off white color, maybe more yellow-e greenish, and the inside is white with a gold design on the inside lip. The handle is also gold. We have 4 old decorative plates, that were given to us by an old friend. They seem to be from the war years, but we do not know exactly which year. They are 8&1/4" in diameter, and have gold trim. Each has a picture on them ,which is centered.The 4 plates each have different scenes on them, but all have the gold trim.On the back,3 of them have markings which look like H&C co.on top of a line and under the line they have the letter L,One has some kind of mark or lettering so small we can't read it. we thought they could possibly be from czechoslovakia, but don't really know

I have a couple things I am trying to figure out if they are worth anything, their history, and/or the date of them. I have a mushroom design tea set or kitchen set. 8 cups, salt & pepper shaker, cream & sugar w/lid, napkin holder, and the tea pot. The top of the lids and salt, pepper, & napkin holer are a dark brown. The tea pot has a sideways mushroom to grip to lift the lid, the tops of the others are shaped like the tops of mushrooms. The porcelain is a cream color on all items and the handles are mushrooms/stems. There is a mushroom setting with leaves that is raised on the side of all pieces. Next I have a tea cup and a saucer that I thought were the same at first, but the pattern on the saucer is darker and the names on the bottoms are different. It is a yellow rose design w/ gold rim & a gold rim at the bottom of cup on edge. The bottom of the cup has a crown w/ Stanley - Fine Bone China England EST- 1875. The pattern is on one side of the cup outside & more design inside cup. The saucer is gold rim that fades lighter. Seeking any assistance in finding out what the number 811 means on the back of my WM. Rogers Silver Plate. It is 10" across, has engraved roses and such on bottom, interior width is 7", meaning 1 and 1/2 inch lip or edged, maybe and inch deep or so for the 7"s. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Hello! I am trying to get some information on how old a Thomasville Chair company dinette set is. I contacted Thomasville furniture and they confirmed my pieces are made by Thomasville chair company (1904-1960) and part of the Welsh Valley collection. I have a pair of KPM Germany marked candle holders, they are between 3 and 4 inches tall. They have a saucer like thing around the candle hole that catches the wax. It has a gold band about and inch wide that goes full circle around the candle hole. Under the saucer like wax catcher it has a 1/2 inch thick stem that you hold on to. at the bottom it flairs back out to a 2 inch wide base. They weigh probably less than a pound. I have an Old (circa 1940's or before) RABBIT DECANTER. He is dressed in a waist-suit with tails and knee-pants, and is holding a bouquet of flowers in one arm and his hat under his other arm. The whiskey pours out of his boutonniere. He is standing in front of a tree-stump. He is incise-marked on the bottom, "3134 H.B. and "JJSBD (can't make out the rest). I found three Thonet bentwood chairs and I am trying to find out when they were made and what they are worth. They have been painted black, so I can't tell what type of wood they are made out of, but it appears to have a mahogany color. They are arm chairs, sort of captain style with large perfectly round padded seats, and bentwood curved supports for the arms. I have a plaque that was made in France and labeled a genuine Limoges Cameo. It also has a label marked Sungott Art Studios, New York; style #283H. It has a pink velvet backround and in the center is a Cameo of a woman (White) with the backround also in pink, surrounded by a yellow gold rope border design and hanging bale. I have a piece of oak furniture that I would like to identify. It is about 6 feet tall, with a mirrored medicine cabinet with 2 metal shelves inside. There is a lock/key for it. The bottom shelf is a water reservoir for the drop down copper sink. There is another reservoir for waste water. Another drop down at the bottom is for shining shoes. I have a wooden budweiser sign about 7"L by 24" H. It has a thermometer in it and the "Bud Girl" She is wearing a Pinky/Orange dress with flowers on it. I also have a Bradley Mickey Mouse Pocket Watch, gold, with an engraved steam engine on the back. Mickey is wearing yellow shoes and red gloves and shorts. His hands are the hour and minute hands. Hi everyone, I have aquired two matching noritake vases that I'm trying to find the value of. They have what appears to be a blue bird in a tree above some pretty flowers over looking a lake. On the bottom they have the letter M inside of a wreath, the word "noritake" above the wreath, and the words " hand painted" below the wreath. Below the words "hand painted" are the words "made in japan". They were my girl friends grandmother's. she says she thinks they were produced around the civil war era. They're in great condition. My Mother has an antique bedroom set purchsed in 1946. It includes a solid mahogany sleigh bed (twin), a one-drawer night stand with bottom shelf and also includes a mirrored dressing table with two deep side drawers and one long front drawer all with brass fixtures. I have no idea of its value or exactly what it is, although it has been said that it could be "qen-baoshi". But there is no information on this that I can find. I do have some pictures if they would help. The 2nd is a chalkware pedestaled bowl or planter. Marwal is on the inside with I.N.D. I.N.C. and the letter C in a circle. there are to of these in the inside. It is from the 1940"s I think and has cherubs holding the bowl at a tilted angle. with flowers. I recently purchased a doll high chair from an estate sale and was told the lady had been collecting for more than 90 years. I believe the chair is redwood and stands 29" high and 12" wide. The seat back has three slats with four red wooden beads (two on either side centered evenly) which connect the outside pieces as one unit. On the center slat is a decal of what appears to be a yellowish smiling rabbit or bear tinged on the outer edges in red and green and it seems the animal is skipping on its hind legs. On the foot rest is an emblem which has the word American directly above a white oval, which in the oval it reads: Teach N Fun Toys. I have a cabinet that is lined with ceramic. The cabinet has two outer doors and an inner door. The detail that standsout are the paintings on the outer doors. They seem to represent a Moroccan scene at a watering hole. The only marks I have found are as follows: 249x1491 L W. There is a drawer and a shelf inside the cabinet itself. I have an 8 inch green ceramic vase with what looks like a raised figure of a victorian female bust. There are brances and leaves at the top and bottoM which appaer to be 24 karat gold. The markings on the bottom say royal with the picture of a crown. Inaide the crown are the initials FM and the date 1735 and on the boottom it says Bonn Germany.There are letters which appear also, CB74 D6900 207. My sisters and I all have a piece of our grandparents dining set. One has the table and 6 or 8 T style chairs, one has the china cabinet with the rounded glass and mirror on top, and the other has the buffett with a mirror on the back. I have a Nippon creamer & sugar bowl, stamped M in a wreath, crowned by "Hand Painted" and below, Nippon. I know it's probably 1911 - 1921 era but DON'T know anything about the design or value. Please help! The design is gold trimmed and white top on creamer with hand painted figures enclosed in black and gold. The figures look like a gold horse with a saddle and a little blue pony painted on a black background, then the next figure which is divided by raised gold dots and the black line is really hard to identify. Looks sort of like a fish with fins and feet?, and the third looks like a strange bird flying (blue body, touch of red on the blue wings, black and gold feathers. I have a small tin box that is in mint condition. It must have come with an antique singer sewing machine. It is a very beautiful black box with the singer sewing machine on top and garland around it. It has pastel colors that kind of bleed into each other on top. The picture of the machine is in an oval setting and it is the whole machine and cabinet. There are some of the same garland (and this garland is in the pastel colors) that go all around the side and at the end is some form of a boquet in the same colors but on the long sides front and back is the name singer in the same logo setting that you see on the machines. Hi, My grandmother has to move into an apartment and needs to sell her antique 1950's chrome and laminate table and chair set which is in excellent condition. It still looks new. April 23, 2005 I just inherited some china with markings on the bottom of the dishes stamped in green glaze with a crown, Eschenbach, Germany, US-Zone, A546, 4. The china is white with gold rim and pink Chrysanthimums. Do you know any history and or value. I found a 50´s dinette set at the local fleamarket. The 4 chairs are marked Virtue Brothers of California. Virtue Bros. MFG. CO. Los Angeles, 45. The red and crome chairs have serial # 2568, chair 624. The table has one leaf, crome legs and is light blue formica with the typical crome border. I have 3 very unique items, the first is a Gazelle head spoon/spatula approx. 8" long the bowl is a flat teardrop shape spoon is brass or silver. The second is a twist-handle spoon with an incased stone on the end, it is approx 5"long, this is silver, with a matching silver twist-stem pick also with incased stone on the end. The last this is a silver pill box with makers mark E.S.B, this is also marked with english hallmarks: 925, birmingham, 1898. Who is the maker? Have aquired 4 prints with following label on reverse "This full colored Collotype has been exquisitely reproduced to bring out the brilliant of the original. Sungott Art Studio of New York". All are numbered "887" with the artists name of "BARDAY". Overall size of frames are 8 1/2" X 7 1/4". I am seeking information on an original oil painting bu Artheu J. Elsley, signed and dated 1903, appears to be in original frame and the title on the back says "Hugs and Kisses" It is a large painting and I know where it came from so I have no doubts that it is original. It has a large dog, kittens eating and playing and three little girls. It is absolutely stunning. I looked in the Fine Artist book at the library and it says his paintings have sold at a low of 98,900 and a high of 198,000. This painting was done 3 years prior to his demise. I have a great brain teaser. I found two bottels one Jack Daniels. The other of Southern Comfort.I found the bottels in my great grand parents house. Both the bottels look old and thay both have N.Y. paper tax stamps over the caps. The jack is 90 proof but it should be 80 Proof. I have a two piece dresser set> I think it is from the 1890-1920 period. Perhaps these are older? There are some numbers and posibly letters stamped on the back. They have roller wheels, carved from (oak(I think). I paid $400.00 15 years ago. The set is mahogany. The drawer fronts are veneered. There are a few minor damages. One piece has a mirror which is removable, this piece has two small drawers side by side on top with 2 larger drawers directly below. The other has 2 small side by side drawers at top and 3 large drawers directly below.. The knobs are very unique I believe they are original. Inside the drawers are one piece carved runners, no nails. There is ornamental hand carved trim vertically on each side lateraly, each center drawer has this matching carved pattern in the center, also the mirror has this trim.I think the knobs are pewter, they have a cirle of stars on each. Where can I look to place a value on this set. Where can I look to see if I can find any similar pieces. I have photos if someone can help me it is much apprecieted. I have a small lot of antique cup/saucers from various makers/regions. (Bavaria, England, Japan..). Most of them do not have names, but #'s. Hi. I have a chest of drawers that I believe is from the 1950's. It is a 4 drawer chest. Two small drawers on the top and 2 extra large drawers in the middle and on the bottom. However, the large drawers are not really drawers. When you pull them out, they swing down and reveal slotted drawers. There is a center divider that divides the drawer into two sections. The center can be removed, also. When you close the drawer, nothing can fall out. The chest is made out of Teak and has very simple lines. It has a new back on it and there are no markings of any kind. I have tried to identify what type of chest this is, but I cannot find any pictures or descriptions that match what I have. Royal Nippon Vase that has a yellow background and is hand painted with purple grapes and some sage colored leaves. There is also some hand painted raised gold outline on the front. I have a sideboard by Berkley& Gay. It has a center door and two side doors that open. Inside the center cabinet it is marked with Berley&Gay Furniture. I also have the round table that goes with it. There is a lot of peeling on it and is white but looks like walnut inside the cabinets and it has pull out drawers for silverware. I have a dining room table that appears to have been made around the 1940's. It has 4 chairs with it and on the underside of the chairs is says "Craddock, Evansville, Indiana". The table comes with 3 leaves. It is a dark veener. The top of the table needs to be redone. The top of the chairs have a decorative scene carved into them that I can't really describe. I also have a buffet that I picked up at an antique store that appears to be from the same era and matches the set. Can anyone give me an idea what all of this might be worth? I have a set of dessert dishes I inherited years ago that are evidently from Germany circa World War II or before. The story is that my uncle who was a priest during the war smuggled them out of Germany. They are white china or procelain with a blue ink artists marking on the bottom. It also has an iron cross stamped on the bottom. The plates have a fancy gold design around the edges of the plates and cups. It appears to be real gold. I have tried to find out something about them but have not been successful. If you know anything about them, please let me know. I also have a silver chocolate pot. It has several markings on the bottom. There is one in the middle that has a start in what looks like a spider web. It also has the number 145 directly under the star. The artists marking is Z470N or 2470N. Above the star are the words quadruple plate. Can anyone help me?
I have recently found a Nippon blue maple leaf marked Chocolate Pot with 5 cups and saucers. Very Good to Excellent condition, only normal wear on the gold. It has hand painted pink roses with a somewhat violet hued ribon design set on a blue/ green background. The pot is gorgeous (at least in my opinion). The outside is bevelled and they swirl upwards in a counter clockwise motion. The cups are very thin and have scalloped bottom. I have searched and searched and connot find any information or similiar pot to date it. Any ideas or direction would be appreciated. Ami

I have a candy dish that I am hoping someone can help me with. This is green glass and the bottom has a deeply cut design. It is divided in 3 sections and has a wheat design on the sides. I recently bought what I think is a Cushman Betumal Telephone table at a flea market for $10. However, there is no stool attached to it. My question is... Since it is incomplete is it worth anything? There are a couple of holes where there was obviously something attached to it. The stool, perhaps? There are also the remains of three sticky strips. I have an heirloom, oak pedistal table, two leaves and six chairs. They have been in my family for several generations now. On the bottom of the chairs are furniture tags which read, "Heyman & Company, Grand Rapids, Michigan." I have a pewter spoon approximately 8 inches tall. It has what appears to be a young royal couple posing together on the handle. The spoon is made up of a 2 part mold and apperas to have been shaved along the edges to get rid of the flash. The only marks are an angel and what seems to be a crown stamped on the back. Hi I have a Alexander Backer Bank. It is chalk or plaster. The bank stands about 8-10" tall and is the bust of a pretty silly looking man. The face on one side has the normal 2 eyes but on the other it has 2 sets of eyes (4 eyes). The bank is stamped Alexander Backer Company on the shoulder. I can not find out anything about this bank. Have a KPM serving dish...this piece is beautiful, trimmed in gold and filigree handles (I think), small purple and yellow flowers with swatches of the gold brushed sporadically throughout the piece. MARKINGS: KPM in blue, Made in Germany in burnt orange in a circle, 386/1626 in gold, STAMPS: what appears to be an L or an angle, and 244 with what appears to be two rectangles underneath the number. I have a large pewter platter wall hanging approximately 23-inches across. They appears no signature on it. It depicts in the cneter, a Japenesse woman holding a cup and a decanter. There is a male kneeling down by her and hold up a small bowl. Also there is a women on her left sitting down and play an instruement. The rest of the platter has birds, flouwers in the center. It has three main circles. The main being the center, then it's serounded by a circle of carved flowers with leaves. The next circle which is raised has again different flowers with leaves caved and somoe of the leaves look like copper was put over. Copper is also highlighted in the center picture on the persons and flowers as an accent. I recently purchased a Pairpoint Manufacturing Pitcher it says it is Quadruple plate and has a larger 1817 stamped below the insignia. It is a beautiful pitcher, but is very tarnished. I actually did not even know it was silver until started researching it. Does anyone have any idea of its approximate value? Also should I try to clean it will that hurt it, I am only assuming it is silver because it says quadruple plate.

I have a highboy dresser with Thomasville 1968 stamped on the back. It's missing a rosette and a pull, but otherwise, for it's age, it looks pretty good. I'd say it has a walnut finish - all tongue and groove, bottom drawer is separated and the top drawer has a place for jewelry. My mom had a small antique plate on display, which my dad hit by accident. It was white in the center, went out in a lettuce leaf like pattern, green on the edge with purple flowers and edged in gold. In the center, on the back were 2 circles, what looks like the number '3' and, at the bottom, the word Germany. I recently found a painting by artist Bela Balogh. It is a still life of fruit and flowers with a goblet on the left side and a container of some sort on the right. I have not been able to find anything on this particular painting, however the artist has several similar paintings I have found through my research. It is an oil painting, on canvas I believe. Hi, I have a wooden antique sewing box on a stand. There are no markings but I found one similar to it on the net. (F.B.M. Co, Hoboken, NJ.) Mine is made of walnut, has two doors that open up & a handle to carry it. It is about 2 ft. tall about 1 ft. deep & about 6 - 8 in. in depth. Excellant condition. I think it was made in the 1930's. hi, we have just recently found a crown derby tea caddy with a pattern resembling something from the delft factories it has six sides and has fishing ships all around the caddy the no's on the base not sure what they are for but (1)4613 (2)931 i belive they are the mound no and pattern no but who knows we would be most grateful, we know the date of the peice is around 1880, approx 4.5 inches high and 2.5 inches wide in varying shdes of blue as you would expect

I have nine wooden spindles in varying sizes. One looks much newer than the others and is marked United Rayon Mills. The rest appear to be much older and are made from wood and some are bound at the top and bottom with metal, one is bound with brass. A dealer told me that they are "antique and worth money". I have a rather unusual silverplate? pierced item with lid. It appears to be a serving piece of some sort. It measures approx. 10" wide x 4 1/2" tall. It has a center bowl measuring 4 1/2" in diameter, and has a ornate pierced fluted edge measuring 3" wide which splays and curves outward and down to 1" from table top. The bottom is stamp marked with an eagle, then Wm Rogers, then a star, and the numbers 3010 beneath. Any information on what I have, and its age, would be most appreciated. I have come upon a small table, 17" high, 24" wide, and around48" long. It is stamped,"Stickely, Grand Rapids, with the "S" symbol in the middle. The top of the desk has three partitioned sections of leather adorned with painted, gold colored designs inlaid into the top. The table has plain legs each ending in a tiny, copper or brass coaster. Need information on a complete HOMAN SILVERPLATE sick call box. It contains a plate, a measuring cup, some sort of horse hair brush, a cross, a couple of holy water bottles, candle holders and a silver spoon. The measuring cup, the plate and the base of the candleholder has Quadruple plated, special metal with the anchor symbol stamped on the bottom. I have six pewter spoons each bowl marked with a crown (inscribed with either "CAT" or "GAT")over a tudor rose. Each is also stamped at the 8, 12 and 4 o'clock positions with either "IMI" or "AMI." The handles are either plain (hexagonal cross-section) or terminate in an "apostle" figure. I am told they are sixteenth or seventeenth century Dutch spoons. I have a cuckoo clock I need to know more about... I can read part of the date in the back cover XX08 I don't know if it's 18 or 1908... I think it says seattle... the writing is in german and I don't know what it says! The bellows... are made of paper, there is an eagle at the top... I recently acquired a bentwood rocker which is "branded" THONET on the lower outside edge of the back. On the inside edge of the seat it is stamped (not branded) MADE IN POLAND. There are numbers on many of the pieces, 02, 03, P5, etc. Someone has put new screws in some places, apparently as a repair. I have a grandfathers clock that was given to my mother which was left to me in her will. She had visited Castle Neuschwanstein back in 1942-1945. King Ludwig died in the 1800's but his descendants are still running the castles. King Ludwig collected grandfather clocks and Castle Neuschwanstein had many adorning the halls. These clocks were not for sale. While there, my mother commented on a certain grandfather clock and how she wished she could have it. This descendant of King Ludwig gave it to her. The clock has beautiful carvings and is adorned with many brass type cherubs and a brass type emblem of Queen Isabella. The clock actually still runs. I am trying to have this clock appraised as I am going to sell it but don't know where to start. I haven't been able to locate any markings on the clock whatsoever. But I was told that a clock of this age most likely wouldn't have one. Can anyone help me on how to go about having this item appraised? I have two Emil J. Paidar barber chairs dated 1933. I can get the chairs to recline but neither will swivel. According to the directions on the bottom of the seat, pushing the handle forward should make the chair swivel. Handle seems to be "frozen". I was recently at an estate sale where I purchased a unique large porcelain teacup (at least I believe it is a teacup) It has legs with gold trim-It has a scalloped opening on the top. It has what looks like a grape and floral design overlay around the top of the cup. There is gold trim througout the design. Hi. I have a vanity with tri-fold mirror from the Joerns Brothers Furniture Company, Stevenspoint, Wisconsin. I have been trying to find what I believe is the matching dresser. I remember having the dresser as a child. The dresser had two doors in front which opened to 3-4 drawers that were shallow (for example, for socks, underwear, etc)and had no handles just cut-out handles in the front of the drawers in order to pull them out. I think that there might have been drawers underneath the doors that were deep drawers (for sweaters, etc). I am unsure about this. This is not clear to me. It was also on legs. I have a tea set that was given to me about 40 years ago by a neighbor lady and she had it for some time so I'm not sure how old it is. It has a tea pot, creamer, sugar pot with lid and six cups and saucers. The marking on the bottom says Hong Kong curved over a pagoda type house with a circle around it and then the word china. On the front of each item there are two dragons facing each other in reds and oranges holding what looks like a green round item between them, on dragons mouth is open and the others is closed. I have a hand sewing machine with a wooden base and a wooden box lid, it appears to be quite old. I think it may be originally from Germany. It has what appears to be a brass plate on top of the base with the words "Original Victoria" and "Fabrik Marke". On one of the shuttle bed's slide covers is what may be a serial number - 32166. I have a bedroom set that appears to be from the 1920's or 1930s. The set looks to be mahagany. It has round gold-painted medallions and then inset in the top front of the dresser, the center top of the headboard & footboard, and the desk chair is a black piece of leather about 8" x 8"s with a coat of arms engraved in the leather. Below the coat of arms it reads aut sinceri aut mori. The leather is attached to the furniture with large round upholstry tacks. The rest of the set has hand painting around the some of the spindles. nothing about this dish, I do not even know if it is meant to be used as a fruit compote or what, I would appreciate absolutely anything that you might be able to tell me about it. From the details surrounding its previous ownership, I do not think this is a reproduction item.

I am looking for the maker of a cup and saucer that is marked Made in China and also has a green pine tree as the backstamp or factory mark. I don't believe that it is anything very expensive or collectable, but I purchased a cup and saucer at a garage sale for my mother and she loves it. I recently acquired a Thonet chaise longue (model # B306 - Le Corbusier design with a black leather seat pad and a chrome frame that tilts to recline via 2 rollers on a black metal base) from a thrift store. I am trying to determine whether it is an original/antique (produced by Thonet circa 1928) or a modern reproduction (and if a reproduction, whether it's a legitimate one produced by a licensed manufacturer or an illegal imitation) and how to tell the difference. I have a drop leaf small table with a drawer that has a sticker on back with "Ferguson Bros. Mfg. Co.Hoboken NJ" and it is numbered. I would like to know about a Nippon marking: It's a circle done in a deep rose color with "Hand Printed" at the top and bottom of the circle. In the middle, between the 2 words, are the letters OAC. Beneath the circle is written "Nippon." I have seen several different Nippon markings, but not this particular one. I have an antique oak table. It has a label underneath the tabletop that says: BARN_ _D QUALITY 1857, TABLES,DRESSERS, THE MARK OF HIGHEST QUALITY. On bottom of label it says catalogue # and lot # but no numbers. I thought it might be BARNARD? 2 of the letters are illegible. The table top is approx. 36 inches by 36 inches and rounded corners and has a shelf below, (I presume) brass claw foot containing glass balls and decoratively turned legs. I recently bought a thrift store drop-leaf mahogany table with a plate identifying it as a Craddock Dependable Furniture product. It is 56" long with the leaves up and 36" wide. With the leaves down it is 26" long. I will use it as an occasional table with a lamp on it and to extend my dining table for a larger dinner party. I am please with it. I cleaned it up with Howard Restor-a-Finish Cherry. Does it have any value beyond what I paid for at the thrift store? Thank you.

We have a tiger maple highboy ("married") that we don't know much about. No markings of any kind, cut nails, worm tracks on inside wood, about 66" tall, four drawers in top section (thinner in size as you go up), one long drawer over three smaller drawers on the bottom section. I have a decantor that I think is porcelin or ceramic. It's white, trimmed with gold, has a little facet on it to let out the liquid that it contains. It has " made in Italy" with writing under it that says "for" ?. The printing is made into the ceramic and I can't make out the last word that may begin with "P".

We have a large dark wood roll top desk with eight drawers (4 each side in front). The inside has what I call pigeon hole drawers with brass pulls. On pulling them out all you see is plain polished wood on top. You have to turn them over to find a small hole opening. We can't imagine what they were used for. Don't know the name of the desk type. When you roll down the desk top it automatically locks the eight drawers. There seems to be a typewriter well in the center. And has a pull out writing area. I am trying find the pattern name on some dishes I inherited from my Grandmother. The base has T.V. in a red bell with France under it. Then in a green rectangle is T & V under that France H (something)CSE. I have the soup plates, they have a green rim with gold painting over that which resembles seat cane at a distance. 25 years ago I was given a small 4 inch by 6 inch dish with fluted edges trimmed in gold and beautiful painted roses on the inside. The underside says M.Z Austrian. I have found such markings on similar pieces on the internet, however, my dish also has a cross or t mark to the top left of the M.Z. marking and a stamped number to the lower right. Hi, I have acquired some Russian dinnerware. Teapots, Coffeepots, etc. They are an off-white and bear a simple Russian mark on the underside. I have recently encountered an antique bed in a bed and breakfast. I would like to have more information about this unique bed. It is a folding bed made by the Toronto Bedding Co. Ltd. Montreal, Toronto, Winnepeg Pat Dec 1906. It appears that the canopy over the bed can be removed when it is in the folded position. I have a set of eight ice tea tumblers from the early 1900's. They are hand painted with a detailed wedding scene. When you turn the glasses, it appears as though the people are walking up the stairs. There are no markings on the bottomes of the glasses. They were purchased in Paris around 1920. I am still looking to find out more about the Le Mieux China Centerpiece that was given to me. It has hand painted pictures on both sides and on the inside. It is a very beautiful and unique piece. NEED HELP IDENTIFYING ARTWORK! I have two very old prints, at least I think they're prints, haven't wanted to take them out of the frames to see... They're matched, one has a single horse, black with white spots, done against a grey and white sky, and has copyright Vigil signed at the bottom, the other is done the same way, but has a black horse with white socks and face in front of a white horse... I got them from my grandmother, who had them for probably at least fifty years, I'm thinking... the artwork does not at all resemble any of the artwork I've looked up by artists like Michael or Veloy Vigil, the signature doesn't match either... What you used it for was to determine the year an item was manufactured. You looked for the serial number of your item on the card and it told you what year it was made. I have a 1968 Drexel Heritage "Esperanto" dining room set which includes the table (I believe it to be pecan wood), two leaves, six chairs in original condition, and the china cabinet (or breakfront). Can someone tell me the estimated value? I was offered a sum, but it belonged to my grandparents and it's hard for me to part with it... unless the price is right. The only thing "flaws" with any of the set is that the chair seats do show a bit of wear at the corners, one strip of wicker trim has been bent and re-glued, and one of the drawer pulls is off of the china cabinet. My family has a portrait of a young woman that was painted on glass, perhaps what I think is called reverse glass as it seems to be on a mirror. The young woman in the painting looks Bavarian in dress. The story goes that my great grandmother had a suitor when she was a young woman in New York. The painting was given to my great grandmother. Hello, I have a beautiful overstuffed chair That I just had reupholstered. I would like to know if anyone can make and attempt to tell me more about it. I think it is a reproduction of perhaps some french style chair. The wood that is showing is painted white with gold it's very curvy and it has webbed ball and claw feet. The chair had an uholstery tag from the 40's so I can safely guess it is at least 70 yrs old. It was upholstered in a grand brocade fabric and I could see a little of what I assume was the original fabric and it too was beautiful brocade. So That is how we had it redone... HELP IDENTIFYING APPARENT LLADRO "RETIRED" PIECE I have just obtained what appears to be a Lladro (copyright DAISA 1992) 4" dish. The image on it is of Columbus' three ships (matte, 3D, in colour), surrounded by a lavender border (shiny, not matte). These are the same ship images as on the 1992 limited edition "Discovery" mug, but with only the ships and none of the other decoration that is on the mug. I am having no luck finding any reference to a "Discovery" dish in any of the online "retired" Lladro catalogues, and am somewhat concerned that what I have may not be true Lladro. Whoeover owned it before me seems to have intentionally chipped away the small picture above the word "LLADRO" in the logo on the back of the dish - however, the words "LLADRO" "Hand Made in Spain" and "DAISA 1992" with the copyright marks after "LLADRO" and before "DAISA" appear clearly and are identical with those on the bottoms of other Lladro figurines. As for any identifying mark other than the damaged logo, there is only a blue sticker with the number "265" printed on it, which I suspect was added by the retailer as it doesn't correlate to any LLADRO catalogue number. Any information someone can provide would be extremely helpful. I'm particularly curious as to why someone would intentionally DAMAGE the logo. I'm not that familiar with Lladro, but have never seen a "word-only" logo in blue on white shiny porcelain, but only on their pottery items. Karen Mercedes dalila@radix.net

Three decorative glass-door openings above counter, center door has "steralizer" stencil. Base has 18 drawers and 2 cabinets. Chair has adjustable porcelin arms, re-upholstered seat & back. Adjustable child seat under upholstered seat. All hydrolics work. I also have the "cable" drill and bracketsset, as well as the tray assembly.

I recently came into possesion of three blue onion canisters. they are almost hour glass shaped with black lettering. the large says flour, med sugar and the small tea. the letters look simular to calligraphy. to my understanding there were supposed to be two crossed swords on the bottom, after the 1800's some had lines through the swords to determine the quality. these set of canisters have what look to be crossed arrows. the sugar canister has been broken and glued back together but it is the only one with the cork around the lid any info will help. please email me mom2atc@yahoo.com

I inherited china from Haviland and Company Limoges. Red and green marks tell me it is between 1888-1896. It's on blank #9 and has pink/white floral wild roses ( almost looks like dogwood) with touches of yellow. Replacements listed it as H2211. Hello. I am trying to identify a hand painted Noritake pattern. It is a lake scene with a small sailboat on the lake and a large tree (a Birch?) on the bank. Hi there, I have been scouring the net for info on my MARWAL cerub plant stand. I can see that several requests for info on Marwal objects are listed here but I can't find listings of the responses if any. My stand is 24.5 inches tall and the bowl at the top is 9.5 inches in diameter. The cherub/cupid is holding up the bowl and draped over the shoulders with a garland of roses and a flowing drape around the hips and down one slightly raised leg - the other leg stands on a pile of rocks interspersed with little plants (three-leafed). The whole piece is beautifully detailed and highlighted with gold and the cherub's face is wonderfully depicted with a gentle smile. I can't find a artist's signature but the copyright symbol and MARWAL IND INC is stamped on a rock at the base. Can anyone give me an idea of age and value? Many thanks. Karen Franklin. I have a set of blue delft canisters that were my grandmothers. There is a H within a circle above the words Made In Germand and the number 3862.a on the bottom of the large ones. There are windmills on the front and sail boats on the sides. I have 6 canisters for staples, 6 for spices, pitchers for oil and for vinegar and a salt box. All have lids. I have two side chairs which have a label on the underside which reads Karpen, these chairs are very ornate, with alot of carving through out the chair. They have cane seats, with a set of cherubs on each side of an eagle. the top of each chair has what looks like a pineapple finial. Anyone have any information about these? Hi, I found your site while researching info on refurbishing antiques...lots of good info. However I have not found the answer to my question(s). I bought and mahogany dinning room table and chairs built circa 1935-40. I want to remove the wax build up on the table surface. I have cleaned the surface with a equal parts of linseed oil, turpentine and vinegar (suggested by a friend) and used Formbys build up remover. The problem: I can see sort of a honeycomb shaped areas (of remaining wax?) on the surface. If I rub really, really hard I can get them out. Is there a better way to do this? A better wax remover? I have an item that puzzles me. There is an imprint on the bottom, half worn off. The outside of the imprint is 2 circles, one larger than the other, and printed between them it says "THE B....(can't read the next letter, you would think it was an "R" for British, but it looks more like an "E"), then around the other side of the circle where it is not worn off, it has the word "CROWN". Before the word "THE" there is a Pattee or Iron Cross (it is on the left side of the imprint). Inside these circles, there is an imperial looking crown, (Irish?)with the intitials "J" and "L". The crown has more symbols I don't recognize. The background on the crown is diagonal lines like this /////. It appears to be brass or bronze (gold in color). I have what has been told to me is a China Cocoa Set from occupied Austria. The bottom is marked M Z with a crown just below that and then Austria below that. The number A19482 is on it as well. It is white delicate china with small rose like flowers in groups of three linked by thin gold stripes horizontally and three thin green lines vertically. On the pot there are two rows at the top and two rows as the bottom. The pot is approximately 8" high. The cups are approximately 3" tall and 2" diameter. I have a beautiful antique wooden vase. It is approx 8" high and is made of very hard wood. There are some carved designs from the opening on top to about 2 inches down the sides. Then there is a lovely scene of mountains, trees, sky, and it looks like some sort of shelters. (they look something like lean tos) This scene covers a band of 4" all around the vase. The seen is painted on with very dark colors. They look like shades of aqua,green,black and gold leaf. There are more carvings beneath this painted band. It is signed on the bottom but I cannot make out what it says. I know it is very old because it has been passed down from relatives that have been deceased and would be well over 100. Does anybody have any idea about what this vase is worth if anything?

I have an oak reclining chair with matching ottomon. There is a half sticker on it that says Shield Ca... torn at that spot. The back has plastic coated springs zigzagged down the frame, it has four manually positioned holes on the bottom of the seat for reclining. The seat and the ottomon are missing the center support. the cushion covers are are a multi-color leave design, with zippers. They are all in excellent shape, seem to be poly fill wrapped foam. May not be terribly old but the craftsmanship is top rate. I am trying to figure out what was originally on the seat & ottomon. There is a deep groove on two sides and it is beveled on the other 2 sides. Screws that seem to hold nothing come in from the bottom. I have a Knuckled Arm Bow-Back rocker with a Karpen Furniture tin plate. It's in beautiful condition, but a bit odd. the top of the seat is partially covered with a tacked down old vinyl that is still in good condition. the seat underside is shape most oddly like a port o potty hole. it's original (the underside) to the rocker. It looks like it was an indoor potty, but i can't imagine rocking and... well... you know what i mean. I kind of think that it was an indoor potty and converted by covering the hole on top and then covering the cover with vinyl. the only way i can know for sure is to remove the vinyl and i don't think i want to do that. can anyone tell me about the rocker? near date made? value? I have 2 silk piano scarves, 5-6 feet on a side, extensively embroidered, and with approx. 12" hand knotted fringe. I have an antique relish dish. On the back looks like a crown, circle of olive leaves, with DM in the middle, says Bavaria under it and elsewhere on the back is stamped 68 or 89 depending on which way you hold it. The dish is gold trimmed, mother of pearl and a hand painted fruit basket in middle bottom of dish. Handles are oval holes on end of dish. We have an old "Silent and light running" sewing machine with owner's manual but we cannot find a manufacturer's name or date of production anywhere on the machine or manual. The sewing machine is a treadle type and the machine itself folds down into the "desk" so it hangs inside and upside down when not in use. A couple of clues: THe is a certificate of warranty for "Sewing Machine No. 2820035" and it has a line that reads, Dated at____________,191__. Any idea on who made this and for how much it sold then and how much it would fetch now?

I have a silver covered dish I am hoping to get some infomation on. It is approx. 5 1/2" in height and 3 1/2" in diameter. It is round, (cylinder shaped) scroll cutout design and has a silver (plate?) cover. It also has a cobalt blue anchor hocking glass insert with a square pattern that measures approx 3 1/2" x 3" cylinder shape. Silver piece is marked on the bottom M (maybe?) and P&S and another symbol that looks like perhaps and owl and also the number 6 232. Any information you could provide would be greatly appreciated! I have a small tea set (maybe a childs) that was given to me by my grandmother that had belonged to her mother. I don't know if it goes back any further than that. My grandmother was born in 1923. It is marked on the bottom with Bavaria 8 and an indented symbol I cannot make out. It is a tea pot and lid with the creamer and sugar bowl. I have a very old ( or I think it is very old) gold cross that I found inside a Catholic First Communion or Last Rights, I am not sure which, cabinet. It is gold with silver on tips and middle. I am trying to find information (age and use) on an old lamp I purchased at the estate sale of a house from the 1800's. It is a G.E. lamp. Unfortunatley, G.E. can not help me. I have a photograph of the lamp. On the bottom of the base it states that it is an infrared lamp, however there is no bulb in it. I hope someone can give me a little more information on the Tureen that I have. My Tureen has two built-in holes (inside) one on each side of the bowl. The holes go to the bottom of the bowl as if to drain something. From my research I believe this is called a Kamcheng,or Congee bowl with a lid. There are four flower scenes around the bowl all separated by a border. The lid also has four flower scenes to align itself to the same flower scene on the bowl. A Chinese stamp is on the bottom of the bowl. I tried to translate it, (poor job) all I got was, Canton, court, and ladies. This Tureen was a gift to me from a friend who had it over seventy years.
